A King - The Selfless

It was a greatest gift for Bhutanese from heaven on 11th November 1955. His majesty the Fourth Druk Gyelpo was born to King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck and Ashi Kezang Choden Wangchuck in Dechencholing Palace, Thimphu corresponding to the Wood Sheep Year of Bhutanese Calendar.
From a very young age, his majesty received Buddhist as well as modern education. He grew up with the pace of modern development of the nation which his father had set in motion. He was trained by his father in governance from a young age.
It was indeed unfortunate for the young Crown Prince and Nation on 21 July 1972. His father passed away at Nairobi in Kenya.  It was on June 2nd he was officially enthroned as the Fourth King of Bhutan. He was the youngest monarch in the world then. The Nation made him to shoulder the daunting responsibility of steering the nation on the path of progress.
Bhutan saw enormous progress in the reign of the Fourth King. The independent and sovereign status of the nation was cemented further with country joined many regional and internal cooperative bodies.
His Majesty the Fourth Dragon King of Bhutan

It was during his reign Bhutan began to steadily progress towards democracy. In 2006, the king announced to hand over the control of government to the people. The work for the first democratic government began. The constitution which constitutes 35 articles was written in consultation with the people and the election commission was set up. Finally in 2008, Bhutan saw its first parliamentary elections and began the new system of governance according to the wish of His Majesty the King.
The major achievement of the fourth king was the Philosophy of Gross National Happiness. GNH was offered as an alternative measure of development of GDP. Development progress should be measured by how much people are happy rather than how much money the nation made – this was the essence of GNH.
Bhutan had been a hideout to the ULFA (United Liberation Front of Assam), the NDFB (National Democratic Front of Bodoland) and the KLO (Kamtapur Liberation Organization). These insurgents had established several bases in the Bhutanese forests across the southern border. This was threat to the national security and the centuries old Indo-Bhutanese relationship.
Despite several peaceful talks with the militants to leave the country and having failed the deadline, this was indication that the rebels had no intention to leave Bhutan. They rather established new camps in more inaccessible areas of Samdrup Jongkhar region.
At last when every possible peaceful request to the militants failed, Bhutan had no other choice but to take up arms and launch a military attack against them. The day was on 15th December 2003.
His Majesty himself led the operation to flush out those militants. It is perhaps the only King of our times, Jigme Singye Wangchuck who has led his army into a battlefield, who willingly put his life to risk for the sake of people and the national security. The selfless, My King.

As we celebrate 60th birth anniversary of your majesty, I pray for the long live and even better prosperous life ahead in times to come.
Happy Birthday your majesty and Long Live. Trashi Delek la

Dunglagang, Tsirang, Bhutan

Not many people wish to work in a remote community. It is almost everyone’s disappointment to visit any villages for official tours or any other reasons. I think more than half of our citizens need to rethink to situate the situation so that our children believe otherwise next time.

Every community is not too bad to neglect and consider. People are happy with electricity, safe drinking water, bumpy roads, and the community center. Whatever we believe is prioritized in urban society is now available in rural culture. It is beautiful and a good thing to let people know that they are happy individually.

Whenever I visit any community or village, I discover something that inspires me. This time the place is at Dunglagang under Tsirang district. Old cohort grandpa plays football barefoot for the exhibition match, and the audience laughs out loud. What a beautiful thing to cheer up for! Every granny’s face shines when her grandpa kicks a ball like a toddler. I will forever cherish these moments and write them down for everyone to see—happiness exists!

well played match!

Anyways, when nature calls for jubilation, when it pours the sign of blessing with mild rain, when the subjects are waiting for the days to swiftly run by, and when it will exactly reach the destiny to bless with Blessed Rainy Day, I wish all Bhutanese a very Happy Blessed Rainy Day.

Time for the lotus to bloom

Never in my life will I hate mud. Sometimes I assure the rose and the lotus poignant the charm of my serenity being. My heart became bustling with enchanted ecstasy and agony then. And again it is not my right to hate those.

Learning is the most beautiful phenomena in the world. Ofcousrse, the highest, that is true, we are mundane matters without learning.

I have seen lotus and rose grow from the dirty mud. They come out of the mud. I was dirty even. I don’t hate mud. I behold and blend those to define my tune characters to be good gentleman. Yes, it is time for the lotus to bloom. Otherwise how can I help the mud to release the lotus?

Helped the mud; taken care of the mud, so that I can conceive of handsome gentleman. If you see the lotus, you can’t believe that it comes out of dirty mud. But it comes: it is the expression of dirty mud.

Not many days are left for me to get pluck from the campus garden and work somewhere. And yes, I am graduating soon.

Trashi Delek!

The sun was clear and shining to its paramount beauty. The day was clear and jovial. The night was cool when I felt a cold draft and the torch started to flicker. Everyone was asleep. I was waiting for the world to end! But it didn’t happen. The globe is still revolving. Everything is as usual and it gave me a thought to condemn who the damn idiot was, who envisage to end the world in 2012.

I was at village when the 2012 ended and when fresh new 2013 began. I couldn’t wish anyone, except my village friends, a happy new year 2013. And thank you all who tagged me on Facebook for the wonderful and inspiring New Year messages. I had wonderful New Year Losar and hope you all had the same.

World will not end. Sun will not set permanently. The seasons will not change. The people dwelling on earth will change and say whatever nonsense they can. They will predict that you will die soon or may be after few years. He/she will be tagged with expiry date. But the fact is that person will laugh after his expiry date too. And to the extent of great nuisance people predicted that the world will end in 2012! People don’t have the limit!

And now let’s hope for the beautiful times ahead. Let’s look back and be thankful for the wonderful memories of previous year. There is Fork in the road of life and Hope you choose the right way that’ll not lead to the misery. May we live in a world at peace with the awareness of God's love in every sunset.  May every flower's unfolding petals will remind you of blooming journey ahead. May every baby's smile will remind you of new life and fresh idea. May every lover's kiss will reminds you of love and compassion.  And may every wonderful, astonishing, miraculous beat of your heart will remind you of having a better smiling tomorrows.

Hope, may you remember or wish to say I love you at least once a day to your spouse, your child, your parent, and your siblings; and hope not to your secretary, your nurse, your masseuse, your student or your instructor.

Happy New year 2013! and Happy Losar!
