For those of you who have been nominated, please follow the rules of this award as listed below:
1. Display the Award on your Blog....
2. Notify back to the Blogger who nominated you....
3. Say 7 points about you.
4. Nominate 15 Bloggers for the award, link them, and inform them about the nominations.

It is a pleasure that versatile blogger Damcho sir nominated me for the “Very Inspiring Blog Award.” The terms made me confused. Confusion plunges me to contemplate, am I inspiring? Yet again, many more inspiring bloggers nominated me for the same. I want to thank Langa Tenzin (Law Student), Sherub Pelmo (Law student), Kezang Wangchuk (student), Karma Wangzom (Engineering student), NorbuWangchuk (Teacher), and Rima Reyka (A mistaken Bhutanese with utmost love for Dragon Kingdom). It’s been a long time on the blogging journey. It is in my interest to follow my patient, and someone conferred those awards is not, I expect.  Anyways, I want to thank Damcho sir for the award, and I am committed to being a regular blogger, though I am far from being inspirational.

I am sorry for responding late. I was busy in the new place, adjusting to new people and the environment for my new job. I had to eat every last morsel after auditors in the guest house. Sometimes everything new is challenging.

Now let’s begin, and I will lecture on seven points about myself!

7 points about me

  •  I am Sangay Duba, but I like to be called Sangay Cholden since the latter sounds cool. I am from the remote village of Shokshi Pangthang, Wangphu Gewog, under the Samdrup Jongkhar district. I am second among seven siblings.
  • I have completed my degree from the College of Science and Technology with a major in civil engineering. Currently I am working with the Department of Roads, Regional Office, Tingtibi, Zhemgang, under the Ministry of Work and Human Settlement. I was not a bright and intelligent student back then in school and college. The outcome of what I am today is all due to the motivation and inspiration of my great-father.
  •  My only interest back then, in school days, was to play Chinese checkers. It was a simple game yet enjoyable. To dance, play, and become famous is not in my instinct. Basically I am a shy guy. I yearn to play football. I am not the best in games, yet not the worst!
  • I am an easygoing person. Whatever you say are your opinions. Whether it interferes with my way or bothers me in any sense, I am not reactive. I am an agreeable person. Sometimes that is the extent of my kindness and warmth for others. Truly I am compassionate, helpful, and not very suspicious of others. I am religious.
  • Luckily or unluckily, I am not a social butterfly. I am not chatty and sociable unless I know someone well. Maybe I am an introvert confused with shyness, lol! But I am not lady-like either.
  • I enjoy adventure. I am curious and appreciate art, imagination, and new things. I am open. It is not difficult for me to change personality depending on the nature of the situation and the person with whom I deal.
  • I am serious about my work. I only react to sincere and punctual people. That is the very bad thing I am obsessed with. Yes, I am decisive and sturdy with the decisions!

Here are my nominees. To revert to seven points about you for who already got the award is your choice.

Happy Losar

It is time for celebration. Tomorrow is the day for the Bhutanese New Year’s festival. The specifics of Losar differ from region to region, and specifically, tomorrow marks Sharchokpa Losar. It is the traditional practice. Starting from the food preparation, presentation, consumption, and eating, it has symbolic meaning. More importantly, it is the day where families unite and reinforce community bonds with a variety of games being played.

It is my time to move to a brand new place to work. I will be henceforth working with the Department of Road in the Regional Office at Tingtibi, Zhemgang District. It was worth attending the induction program for two weeks with the Royal Civil Service Commission and the Ministry of Work and Human Settlement.

I am yet to be there and prepare a bucket list to explore the region and beyond.

A change, a new job, a new place to live.
Explore and learn exists.
I shalt prepare bucket list soon
Hope the place shalt be clear as the moon.

Happy Losar to my fellow bloggers, and I wish happiness for times to come in your life.

Album Series IV

When I open my album after many years, I recall the emotions I experienced at that time. That was the first feeling I ever had for someone. I never knew the event would happen with me that day. It was uncertain and spontaneous. After a few days, I confirmed that I loved someone sincerely. A few months later, a nameless person was on my right, and we were finally in love.

The start of Romance

The management felt the distributions of girls in sections were not uniform. I was in class 10C. I never knew who would join and leave my class. Few boys were adjusted to Section D, and few girls joined my class. Finally the class was set with a comparable number of boys and girls.

Class romance is usually a disastrous idea. I couldn’t control my feelings that time. The moment of her entrance, her short hair beautifully cut, a few books in her hand, and her shy demeanor captured my heart. The beam of her beautiful, humble face distracts my attention in the class, yet I wasn’t overwhelmed with the feelings.

Since then it has been an affliction of my brain. But my priority was only studying, and whenever I got spare time, I thought of her and enjoyed her moves during social work. Intervals were my best time to fascinate her and think further. It was tough talking to friends about her. Finally, a good friend helped me learn her name and background.

Image from Google~ pardon me!

Her name was K… W… she was from the northern part of Tashigang, yet not far north. At the very end I knew everything about her.

Finally, it was time for me to let her know. To propose to a girl face-to-face, carrying loads of feeling, is simply a thought. Never in real life could I face it. The commonest and best was to write a sweet epistle and send it to a friend covertly.

Finally, I did write a few sentences in a letter. The only content I remember is my remark to reply soon. A week went by waiting for a reply. One fine Saturday night, it was a moment of joy. I got her reply, and we were united. She loved me, and I loved her. Our hearts were manacled. She was my first love.

Within a few weeks, it was time for departure. I could not believe it. But I had to face the reality. She was far away from me; however, she felt so close when I read her committed letters. Reminiscing about her was my obligation.

Losing one's first love was a painful experience. I was astray by the loss of my love. I am pleased to be her friend, and she is the mother of a child.

Time apprise feelings,
Eternal love shalt prevail.

Reconduct exam for Leaked English paper II!

Bhutan Council for School Examination and Assessment (BCSEA) board has decided not to conduct re-exam for the leaked English paper II. It is very unfortunate for the students who haven’t got the leaked questions. The chosen decisions among many options the committee had, doesn’t hold any water. It is honestly unfair.

The most awaiting moment – the decision from the board came as bombshell for the students. Almost everyone was expecting the board to re-conduct the exam. Either parent of the students and the students themselves.

No other options could play fair in this case. There are maximum numbers of students who haven’t gotten any idea about the leaked paper and there are few pockets who proudly have written the paper. The only best option is to redo the exam.

Why consider the marks in English I and abandon English II when former examines mostly the grammar and language and later the literature which expose students to poetry, drama, story etc.? Why should there be two separate papers then? How logical it is to compare two complete different things?

Re-conduct the exam! Image from Google
It is good reminiscence how I struggled to score good marks in English. For almost every student English II is rescue from hassle of English I. English II help students to get the good average marks.

The reasons prioritized by the board are cost at the first place and then the logistics and hassle to students. Considering these reasons and decides not to redo exam don’t at all play fair to students and parents who work hard whole academic year. It is not the students illegally leaked the questions. It is the ethical questions to the integrity and liability of person who leaked the paper.

I hope the decision shall be reverse first to redo exam and play fair to all students and then find the person behind for causing adversity and fix accountability at the earliest.
