From Shingkhar, Zhemgang

It was a long journey on bumpy roads. It takes six hours from Tingtibi to reach my site office at Nimshong. Again, it takes two hours to reach the actual work sites. It is tough and tiring even in a vehicle on those far roads. Gewog road construction is going on for Shingkhar and Bardo gewogs under Zhemgang dzongkhag. I went to sites for handing over formalities to complete.

I was asked to be careful with work since the area is politically sensitive. I don’t understand why. The only thing I know is that I am taking charge of the services of dear people. Roads are necessary for the development to progress. I never expect people to disagree and nurse a grievance.

It was inspiring to see laborers, machine operators, site supervisors, and Junior Engineer work hard to reach the road to destiny, gewog centers.  The very tiring work of drilling and blasting that rocky terrain is dangerous. Despite their hard work, they are not happy to hear those hard words of people’s disagreement. They become demoralized.

I plead, people. Please come to a consensus. Let us construct and build for your own benefits. Work is getting delayed day by day.

And for time to pass, I wrote the poem after listening to people talk about how Zhemgang and Bumthang are connected. It would be wonderful if I got time to reach Bumthang and Mongar from Shingkhar, Zhemgang, by walking.

From Zhemgang Shingkhar to Bumthang Shingkhar,
For excursion that seem convivial forth,
Hoping best to explore beyond
It would be time passing great.
I shalt go~

Far and beyond the Agony you left

Far beyond the agony you left,
Flapping alone on that top, it wafts.
Be it zephyr or the wind,
Thou dancest for the beings gone and alive.

Shaded scribbles
From the bibles
With enormous devotion inscribed
I am subjected to subscribed

From the daunting Samsara
Dangle with effort to transcend
To the safe haven of Nirvana
So I shalt waft far and more…

Tingtibi, Zhemgang, Bhutan

Everything is new at Tingtibi. Foremost, the place itself is new for me. Go to the office, bazaar, and hospital; people are new. The work and office that I am going to head again are new. As I look in any direction, I can only see those huge mountains that block everything and even the mobile network, again a new thing to experience. The only old I could see is when I look beyond, at the beautiful sky.

The pristine nature is inspiring to live in. The beautiful Mangdechu River flows beneath the arch bridge, and it is refreshing to stand on for sightseeing. A little above the bridge is a small town plateaued on the slope. Every corner of the town has a small branch office except for the Bank of Bhutan.

Beyond those huge mountains, to explore and see what exists, travel to Trongsa, Zhemgang, and many new places in Zhemgang is yet to be prepared. Soon I will leave for a hot spring excursion. I have many more beautiful places to explore and add to my list of life experiences.

For now I wish you a happy weekend. Enjoy~ Forget not to wear your smile~

Very Inspiring Blog Award

For those of you who have been nominated, please follow the rules of this award as listed below:
1. Display the Award on your Blog....
2. Notify back to the Blogger who nominated you....
3. Say 7 points about you.
4. Nominate 15 Bloggers for the award, link them, and inform them about the nominations.

It is a pleasure that versatile blogger Damcho sir nominated me for the “Very Inspiring Blog Award.” The terms made me confused. Confusion plunges me to contemplate, am I inspiring? Yet again, many more inspiring bloggers nominated me for the same. I want to thank Langa Tenzin (Law Student), Sherub Pelmo (Law student), Kezang Wangchuk (student), Karma Wangzom (Engineering student), NorbuWangchuk (Teacher), and Rima Reyka (A mistaken Bhutanese with utmost love for Dragon Kingdom). It’s been a long time on the blogging journey. It is in my interest to follow my patient, and someone conferred those awards is not, I expect.  Anyways, I want to thank Damcho sir for the award, and I am committed to being a regular blogger, though I am far from being inspirational.

I am sorry for responding late. I was busy in the new place, adjusting to new people and the environment for my new job. I had to eat every last morsel after auditors in the guest house. Sometimes everything new is challenging.

Now let’s begin, and I will lecture on seven points about myself!

7 points about me

  •  I am Sangay Duba, but I like to be called Sangay Cholden since the latter sounds cool. I am from the remote village of Shokshi Pangthang, Wangphu Gewog, under the Samdrup Jongkhar district. I am second among seven siblings.
  • I have completed my degree from the College of Science and Technology with a major in civil engineering. Currently I am working with the Department of Roads, Regional Office, Tingtibi, Zhemgang, under the Ministry of Work and Human Settlement. I was not a bright and intelligent student back then in school and college. The outcome of what I am today is all due to the motivation and inspiration of my great-father.
  •  My only interest back then, in school days, was to play Chinese checkers. It was a simple game yet enjoyable. To dance, play, and become famous is not in my instinct. Basically I am a shy guy. I yearn to play football. I am not the best in games, yet not the worst!
  • I am an easygoing person. Whatever you say are your opinions. Whether it interferes with my way or bothers me in any sense, I am not reactive. I am an agreeable person. Sometimes that is the extent of my kindness and warmth for others. Truly I am compassionate, helpful, and not very suspicious of others. I am religious.
  • Luckily or unluckily, I am not a social butterfly. I am not chatty and sociable unless I know someone well. Maybe I am an introvert confused with shyness, lol! But I am not lady-like either.
  • I enjoy adventure. I am curious and appreciate art, imagination, and new things. I am open. It is not difficult for me to change personality depending on the nature of the situation and the person with whom I deal.
  • I am serious about my work. I only react to sincere and punctual people. That is the very bad thing I am obsessed with. Yes, I am decisive and sturdy with the decisions!

Here are my nominees. To revert to seven points about you for who already got the award is your choice.
